Eddie Schwartz, Security Executive
Eddie Schwartz works for a leading New York-based financial services firm in the cypto space as Chief Security Officer (CSO) responsible for the day-to-day direction of the firm’s global cyber and physical security programs.
Eddie has enjoyed an impressive cyber security and technology management career spanning over 30 years. He most recently served as Chief Security Officer for Block.one, where he led security for EOSIO, Voice, and the Bullish Exchange. Prior to Block.one, Eddie was EVP of Cyber Services for DarkMatter LLC in Abu Dhabi, where he led all technology development and delivery for the leading cyber solutions firm in the GCC.
Eddie has held numerous executive leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer for pioneering advertising fraud firm WhiteOps, Inc,, VP/Global Leader for Cyber Security Solutions at Verizon; VP/Chief Security Officer for RSA Security; Co-Founder and Chief Security Officer of NetWitness (acquired by EMC); Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ManTech International; EVP/General Manager of Global Integrity (acquired by INS); and Senior Vice President of Operations of Guardent (acquired by VeriSign). He has also served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Nationwide Insurance.
Eddie served on the Board of Advisors for multiple early stage / start-ups companies, including BitGo NY Trust Company, Inc., Observable Networks and My Digital Shield and has also led global security industry working groups as a member of the International Board of Directors of ISACA and Chairman of ISACA’s Global Cyber Security Taskforce, and a former member of the Executive Committee of the U.S. Financial Services Roundtable.
Eddie earned a BIS in Information Security Management and an MSc in Information Technology Management from George Mason University School of Management in Washington D.C. and is the recipient of numerous awards including Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders Award, and George Mason University Management School’s Top 100 Patriots Award.
